Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "O.L. & A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1860, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a vine bearing a large flower blossom. Excellent color. Essentially as-made condition with a shallow 1 3/8" glazed-over chip to reverse of rim. Iron ping to reverse.
