Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tall collar, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a leaf with dotted trails. Thin Y-shaped crack on underside, leading to a 12 1/4" Y-shaped crack on reverse. Wear to inner lid rim.
