Six-Quart Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a branch. Nice small-sized crock with large-sized bird design, covering much of the front. Excellent condition with only minor flaws. A small handle chip, a shallow glazed-over chip to opposite handle, a minor chip to side of rim, a small iron ping at base on side of crock, and a minor chip and two tiny nicks to underside at edge.
