One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, New Jersey origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed foliate design on the front and the inscription "1 1/2 G" in cobalt on reverse. Top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse. Chips on interior of rim. Faintness to cobalt capacity notation on reverse.
