Rare Miniature Slip-Decorated Redware Basket, probably Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, wheel-thrown basket with pinched sides, scalloped rim, and delicate ribbed handle, the surface decorated with white slip stripes and streaks of manganese over a mottled olive and orange clay ground. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Very nice form with strong decoration. Minor wear to top edge of basket. A minor spot of wear to each end of handle. A few small, shallow chips to bottom edge. L 3 1/2" ; W 2 1/2" ; H 3".
