Eight-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Stenciled Rooster Decoration, Ohio origin, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid cooler with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, applied lug handles, and circular bunghole, decorated with a large stenciled design of a crowing rooster. Stenciled "ICE WATER / 8" above. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with two salt drips to base, visible on side and reverse. H 16 1/2".
