Three-Gallon Stoneware Advertising Jug with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "A.B. WHEELER & CO., / 69 Broad Street, / BOSTON, MASS.," circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with slip-trailed design of a crest bird with long tail, perched on a leaf. In-the-making, glazed-over scratch to shoulder. Salt drip at base. Chip to top of spout, possibly in-the-firing. In-the-firing lines on underside. 1 3/4" x 3/8" chip to side of jug, possibly in-the-firing.
