Two Glazed Stoneware Washboards, American, fourth quarter 19th century, a small-sized example with dark reddish-brown clay; paired with a larger Albany-slip-glazed example. Small washboard in excellent condition. Large washboard with 1 1/2" loss to base of stoneware board itself, a few chips to body of board, as well as a large loss to bottom edge of wooden backer, a chip to corner of wooden backer on reverse, and wear to feet. Dimensions (of small washboard): 13 1/2" x 7".
