Rare Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Signature, "J. RAMBO," attributed to Joseph Rambo, Muskingum County, OH, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, heavy semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt stripe and number "4" above the cobalt signature "J. RAMBO". The name, J. Rambo, on this crock likely refers to Joseph Rambo (1823-1881), active in Muskingum County, Ohio. Includes old wooden lid. 3" Y-shaped line to front, not visible on interior. 7" hairline extending up from base on reverse.
