Stoneware Wax Sealer with Cobalt-Stenciled "Mammy" Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with rounded wax sealer rim, the front decorated with an abstract stenciled design resembling a mammy with large dress. This design is probably more accurately described as a bell or basket. Desirable decoration. Excellent condition. H 10".
