Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to G. & A. Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with heavily-tooled midsection, tooled shoulder, and flattened rim, the shoulder decorated with a series of brushed cobalt "deer hoof" designs. Jar is out-of-round with recessed spot on one side. Small nicks to rim. 2 3/4" and 2" tight surface lines from rim, not visible on interior.
