One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with three fan-shaped flowers. Small inverted U-shaped line in rim with tiny nick along top edge. Hairline extending across underside, connecting to a 4 1/2" crack at base. An additional tight 5 1/2" hairline extends vertically from this crack.
