Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1865, tapered churn with footed base, tooled shoulder, tall flaring collar, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with a large, two-stemmed clover plant. Chip to end of one handle. Worn spot to end of opposite handle. 1 3/8" base chip along with a much smaller base chips. Three minor chips near edge on underside. Hairlines to base area and underside.
