Rare Glazed Shenandoah Valley Redware Jar, Stamped "WINCHESTER POTTERIES VA," Round Hill Pottery, Winchester, VA, circa 1930, ovoid jar with flared rim and footed base, the surface covered in a black lead-and-manganese glaze. Impressed with large "WINCHESTER POTTERIES VA" maker's mark within an apple at base. 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" hairlines from rim. Some in-the-firing dryness to surface. Two horizontal, in-the-firing lines at base, one of which is glazed over. A 1 1/8" in-the-firing stacker mark / flake to top of rim. H 10 3/4".
