Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Profuse Cobalt Floral Decoration, New England origin, third quarter 19th century, keg-form cooler with raised banding and unusual, stepped circular bung hole, decorated with a large and well-detailed brushed and slip-trailed flowering plant. Design features three circular blossoms, embellished with numerous slip-trailed dots and curled trails. Bung hole bordered by dots. Excellent decoration. Very nice condition with two chips to inner edge of flange-like rim, a stone ping on reverse, and a minor nick to edge on underside.
