Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO. / MOUNT MORRIS," New York State origin, circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt leaf, below the number "2" in cobalt script. Some fry to cobalt. Cracks in underside, extending several inches up front of jug in three places. Tight crazing to top of handle, base, and areas on body of jug.
