Two New Jersey Stoneware Jars, 19th century, a three-gallon jar with cobalt star-shaped foliate design, stamped "UNION POTTERY / NEWARK, N.J. / J. ZIPF, Prop."; paired with a three-gallon, unmarked ovoid jar with brushed cobalt floral designs on both sides, the front also decorated with a brushed "3" flanked by flourishes. Union Pottery jar with significant flaking, large rim chip, wear to interior of rim, and a faint surface line at base on reverse. Three-gallon jar with large cracks, some of which occurred in the firing, as well as a rim chip and small rim nick.
