Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Flask, New York State origin, circa 1820, with slightly-flattened sides and heavily-tooled neck, each side decorated with a brushed cobalt plant or leaf. An unusually-fat-bodied example. Provenance: Dug in New York State approximately twenty years ago. Essentially as-made condition with in-the-firing crazing to shoulder and neck area on one side, and some dryness to decoration on reverse. H 7".
