Salt-Glazed Stoneware Teapot with Cobalt Decoration, Seagrove, NC origin, 20th century, finely-potted form with ovoid midsection and tall collar with squared rim. Applied strap handle and spout with cut end. Rim with applied clay band to keep liquid from flowing over while being poured. Midsection of pot decorated with cobalt dashes flanked by incised lines. Handle decorated with cobalt spots. Unmarked. Tight hairline on underside continuing a short distance onto base in two place. Minor base chip. H 7 3/4".
