Fine Anna Pottery Stoneware Frog Mug, Incised "St. Louis Police Commissioner / 1882," Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, with flared base, tooled shoulder, and applied strap handle, the interior with applied figure of a frog. Incised across the body in classic Kirkpatrick-style penmanship "St. Louis Police Commissioner / 1882". Surface covered in a chocolate-brown Albany slip. Frog with green cold-painted surface. A desirable Anna form with whimsical slogan. Excellent condition. H 2 3/4".
