Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Eagle Decoration, Ohio origin, fourth quarter 19th century, approximately twenty-gallon, semi-ovoid jar with raised banding, the front with stenciled decoration of a spread-winged eagle with banner, inscribed "E. PLURIBUS UNUM". Excellent condition with some light staining and a later marker inscription on inside, which reads "NOT FOR FOOD CONTAINED LYE". H 21 1/4".
