Rare Glazed Redware Vase, Maine origin, second quarter 19th century, highly-ovoid vase with footed base and narrow opening with flared rim, the surface covered in streaky greenish glaze over a reddish ground with light orange spotting throughout. Excellent form and color. Several small base chips. Some flaking to underside only. Wear and a few minor nicks to rim. 5/8" spot of glaze loss or possible in-the-firing contact mark to side of vase. H 8 1/2".
