Exceptional Glazed Redware Jug, New England origin, probably Maine, early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, flared spout, and applied strap handle. Surface covered in a streaky pale-greenish glaze with heavy bright red flecking throughout. Outstanding color with a dynamic, flowing appearance to the glaze. Heavy chipping to base. Heavily-flaked section to base. Two small chips to side of handle. Very minor spout wear. H 8 1/2".
