Ten-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1885, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a freehand stripes and vining, graduated freehand dashes flanking the maker's stenciling, stenciled flourishes, and a freehand "10" at base flanked by flourishes. Large vertical crack under one handle, extending onto underside, where it forms a Y, and continues onto base elsewhere on the body of the jar.
