Twelve-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "WILLIAMS AND REPPERT / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1885, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with freehand stripes and vining at the shoulder, a circular stenciled decoration of a Federal eagle at center, surrounded by a semi-circular band of stenciled flourishes, and freehand "12" with flourishes at base. Cracks from rim on front, including a reglued wedge on front and restoration at rim on front. Additionally, a several inch crack from rim on reverse as well a long cracked (and possibly reglued) section along rim on reverse.
