Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to J. Weaver, Beaver, PA, circa 1865, semi-ovoid jar with tall collar, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, the front decorated with several rows of brushed cobalt designs, including leaves, swags, and dots. Sealed, inverted 9" Y-shaped crack from rim on front. Chip to one handle. Tight, approximately 3 1/2" X-shaped line on reverse.
