Two-Gallon Stonewatre Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, James River, VA origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with thin, semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with a flowering vine bearing oval blossoms. Brushed cobalt "2" under each handle. Rim chips. Handle chip. Tight line to edge on underside, forming a Y-shaped line at base. Additional tight 3 1/4" Y-shaped line to one side.
