Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Heavy Cobalt Floral Decoration, Maryland origin, circa 1850, ovoid-bodied pitcher with rounded foot and heavily-tooled collar, decorated with two large clover plants extending up the front from a wide cobalt stripe at base. Collar decorated with cobalt swags. Spout decorated with cobalt dashes. Excellent decoration. Missing handle. Spout chip. Some minor rim nicks, most of which are glazed over. 2" base chip on reverse.
