Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / STONEWARE / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," circa 1820, nicely-potted ovoid jug with heavily-tooled shoulder, stepped spout, and ribbed handle, decorated with a brushed cobalt oval around the maker's mark and cobalt highlights to the handle terminals. Excellent size. Two spout chips. Tight lines to base. H 9 3/4".
