Five Spongeware Custard Cups, American, late 19th century, all of ovoid form with thin rims, decorated with heavy cobalt sponging over a whitish ground. Hairlines to one cup. A rim chip and hairline to other cup. 1" rim chip, additional chipping to rim, and an inverted Y-shaped hairline to a third cup. Two other cups in excellent condition. H (of each) 2 1/4".
