Glazed Redware Lidded Sugar Bowl, PA origin, possibly Adams County, 19th century, ovoid bowl with rounded foot, tooled shoulder, and flared rim the surface decorated splashed manganese glaze over an olive ground with orange mottling. Bowl impressed "4" on underside. Includes original domed lid with similar glazing over a mottled orange and olive ground. Two 1 3/4" cracks from rim. 1 1/2" rim chip and other light wear to rim. Two flakes to shoulder, measuring 3/4" and 1/2". Chips to lid and wear to finial of lid.
