Exceptional Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO, NY," circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a very large Rochester-style tulip with dotted and dashed highlights to the blossom and leaves. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. 1 1/4" contact mark to front. Shallow, glazed-over rim chip. Glazed-over flaw to shoulder with 1 3/4" in-the-making line extending vertically from it. Contact mark to top of handle. A few minor base chips.
