Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "CLARK & FOX / ATHENS," NY State origin, circa 1830, bowl-shaped, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and ribbed handles, decorated with a large fan-shaped flower below the impressed and cobalt-highlighted maker's mark. Excellent color and form. Glazed-over 1 1/2" stone ping to front, along with two other small stone pings. Small rim chips. Four surface lines at base, not visible on interior. H 9 3/4" ; W 11 1/4".
