Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Several small chips to interior of rim. Some tight lines to surface.
