Glazed Redware Jar with Manganese Decoration, New England origin, circa 1840, finely-potted ovoid jar with tooled bands, flared rim, and arched tab handles, the base of collar with coggled molding. Surface decorated with numerous manganese splotches over an olive ground. Rim with chips and a 1 1/8" reglued wedge. 7 1/4" crack from rim. Thin crack at base. Scratches to glaze around midsection. H 10".
