Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Jar with Philadelphia Advertising, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, approximately three-to-four-gallon ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising "MADE FOR / WANNER & KLINE / No. 228 NORTH 3RD ST. / PHILADELPHIA". Advertising bordered by cobalt leaves, flanked by flowers. Reverse with floral and swag decorations. Undersides of handles with three cobalt dashes. Hairline to shoulder on reverse. 2 1/4" iron drip to reverse.
