Ironstone Civil War Commemorative Pitcher, Marked "M, A, P, TRENTON, NJ," circa 1865, molded pitcher featuring a raised design of a battle scene on one side, along with the impressed names "COL ELLSWORTH," "BROWNELL," and "J.W. JACKSON / THE TRAITOR". Reverse depicts a vulture holding a snake in its beak atop a fallen palm tree and tattered Southern flag, below the impressed slogan "UNION AND CONFEDERACY". An American flag supported by rifles appears to the right. Impressed on underside with the maker's mark of Millington, Astbury, & Poulston. Large professional restoration to spout and rim area. H 9".
