Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON, / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate brushed and slip-trailed floral design consisting of two flowering stems extending from a cross-hatched stump. Excellent, vibrant color. Filled rim chips. 5" hairline under one handle. Top-to-bottom crack to left of one handle, extending onto underside, where it is restored. Filled handle chip.
