Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J.A. & C.W. UNDERWOOD / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with applied lug handles, rounded shoulder, and flared rim designed to hold a lid, the front decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird on a stylized branch. Excellent, as-made condition.
