One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1850, cylindrical jug with thick spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt flower. Provenance: Denlinger Auctions, Bennington, VT., April 5, 1986, Lot # 67. Excellent condition with two minor glazed-over spout chips, very light wear to base, and a few short lines at base. H 12".
