Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Design, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, NY," circa 1885, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed foliate design with heavily-shaded leaves. Slip-trailed "2" to right of decoration. Several rim chips. Hairlines at base. H 11 1/2".
