Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "J.M. HARDEN / Palatine, WVa," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, the front decorated with "J.M. HARDEN" stenciling surrounded by various stenciled flourishes. Provenance: From a Western MD collection. Spots of in-the-firing residue to front. 1/2" bloated spot on underside. H 8 7/8".
