Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, VA origin, mid to late 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front with a large brushed cobalt design of a two-stemmed flowering plant flanked by swags. Reverse with swags at shoulder. Heavy exfoliation to surface. Rim chips. A few small chips to each handle. Some tiny nicks to shoulder molding. H 16".
