Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "FLACK & VAN ARSDALE / CORNWALL, ONT," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, thick rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a vine curled tendrils. Includes Albany-slip-glazed lid, probably not original to the crock. Heavy fry to cobalt. Small chips to rim. Lid with tiny edge nicks. H (including lid) 10 1/4".
