Glazed Redware Jug, New England origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder, flared spout and ribbed strap handle, the surface decorated with sweeping trails of manganese slip over a dark red ground. Provenance: From a long-term Maine collection. Lines in shoulder, one extending from spout and another extending from a 2" sealed horizontal crack in shoulder. Wear to spout. Chip to handle. H 9".
