Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with banded midsection, tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and large lug handles, decorated with freehand vine design, four stripes, and the number "4" with dashes near base. Impressed "4" on reverse. Excellent color. Provenance: From a thirty-five-year Western PA collection. Flakes around base. Glazed-over chip to end of handle. Rim chip. 2 1/2" line under one handle, which does not appear to extend through to interior. H 14 1/2".
