Outstanding Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, Rochester-Genesee Valley, NY, circa 1840-1860, approximately two-gallon ovoid jar, decorated with manganese bands and a large fern design in yellow slip. Additional circular yellow slip design below. Jar was wheel-thrown in two pieces, then joined at the center. Excellent decoration. Mint condition. H 12".
