Rare Large-Sized Presentation Spongeware Bear Bank, Inscribed "Helen," Ohio origin, late 19th century, Bristol slip glazed, molded figure of a standing bear clutching a stump, with cobalt highlights to stump, base, and eyes. Reverse with slot, inscribed in cobalt "Helen". Incised detail to fur, paws, and face. A fine example of Midwestern pottery. One ear reglued. Professionally restored chips to slot. H 7 1/4".
