Rare Halethorpe, MD Stoneware Jug, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, squat-shaped jug with tooled spout, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted words "AMYL KIJIO / LABORATORIES / HALETHROPE (sic) / MD." This jug is the only example of Halethorpe, MD advertising stoneware, and the only example of Baltimore chemical stoneware, we have seen. Some light flakes to shoulder and an in-the-making scratch to clay on shoulder. Two minor, in-the-firing lines in handle. H 9 1/2".
