Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / MANUFACTURERS / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with brushed cobalt stripes, flourishes incorporated into the stenciled words, and a stenciled "2" with flourishes at base. Provenance: Tom McCandless Collection, Hopewell, NJ. Excellent condition with a 4" Y-shaped hairline on reverse, which does not extend through to interior. H 11 3/8".
